acs2n
I'm new to the message board. I own a 1998 Outback with 78,000 miles. I have a problem with a rough idle while in gear...annoying. The dealer continues to say everything with the engine is set correctly and the Subaru's idle as such. Anyone have any ideas? I've tried a couple of rounds of injector cleaner but that didn't seem to change anything. Out of gear, the idle is definitely less noticable. Dickensheets
Your clutch may be dragging (I assume it's m/t). You might test the pedal for proper travel. rd

Dickensheets
Well in that case I'd do a tranny FLUSH first, especially if its not been done in a long time. With those miles you really have nothing to lose.rd ps - I assume the engine is healthy. An ailing engine can manifest itsself through the transmission.
