P1507 CEL reading

Featured Replies

I posted on here a few weeks ago about changing a speed sensor. I ordered the sensor and pciked it up tonight. Just to make sure I had the guy read my CEL code again, this time I wrote down the number and description.

From searching this site I am finding that P1507 means "Idle Control System Malfunction" however, mine read "Manufacture Control Speed Sensor" which is why I purchased the speed sensor. Before going through the work/money of replacing the speed sensor, I would like to make sure this is the problem. Why would my car not read the Idle control system thing, and if that is the problem, how do I go about fixing it?

I drive a 2001 Manual Transmission Outback. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
