I'm replacing the heads on my 86 Brat.

The smog stuff was removed earlier. How important are the two rubber hoses that fit into the front of the intake manifold. I'd like to "clean" up the engine of all the extra stuff. I live in sunny Florida so wold weather running isn't a big problem.

I've got an 82 brat with the EA81 engine and I capped off all water lines going to and from the manifold to the engine block and have had no problems so far. Perhaps a few more experienced wrenches can chime in.
