If this makes it in time and

 

If you havent checked the studs that hold on your head.... you should.

Use two nuts backed into each other and Torque em down to the final torque that is suggested in the manual, before you install gasket and head.

 

One of mine stripped and I ruined the head gasket.... If i had just torqued on em first I coulda saved twenty bucks and two days waiting for a gasket. Course I would have had to wait a day for the proper helicoil kit to arrive so I guess its just a matter of mucking up the gasket.

 

You don't really have to have the special socket tool to retighten the heads you can just loosen the rocker arms and retorque after warm up.

 

I would go through a few weeks later and retighten all the bolts and nuts you can. I kept loosing non important nuts and bolts that hold things onto the engine till I just re-torqued everything I had taken off.

 

Also how are the exhaust studs doing try to torque on those too if they strip its much easier to work on those with the engine outside the car if you need to.

 

I think thats all the stuff I know of course.... I never split the block......
