abs sensor removal on a 91 legacy

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 91 awd legacy wagon. Im replacing the front passanger side spindle.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the abs sensor on the back of the spindle ?

thanks bmac_1277

There should be a bolt that holds it into place. However with time they get rusted in there. So you may need to squirt a lot of penetrating oil in there and try to gently tap it out.

thanks legacy777 those buggers were in so snug I was worried id ruin the seal on the sensor. so I took the new spindle with an abs already on unplugged the old wiring thru the firewall and hooked up the new connection from the new spindle. getting access to the wiring harness in the engine copartment was no easy feat. after removing all kinds of brackets by the abs system i accessed the harness.

one other question.... where do you access the abs wiring connector for the passenger side rear wheel ? my fear that it will be inside the car under the carpet running up to the front.

Under the fold up part of the rear seat(that you sit on) i believe.
