it goes from bad to worse....*update-all fixed(somewhat)

Recommended Posts

after spending about two hours mucky around changing my front driversside coil spring that broke awhile back. (yup two hours)

well after having fun with that,i get her back together and back down on the ground.i decide to test it out.only moved it back and forth about ten feet and....i hear this really bad sounding noise(similar to metal grinding and cruching against metal).so i jack it back up,wheel comes off so i could have a look see.turns out the speed sensor for the abs was bent downward some how(don't know if it happened when i was working on the spring or what)it looks like it was rubbing against that notched wheel that's behind the rotor.

ok so after pulling the sensor out and tieing up out of the way(i wasn't at my house, had to drive home)i start off for home.three quarters of the way it was fine, not a peep.then all of a sudden i start getting this noise that sounds like metal bouncing against metal (only when going straight and turning left, but goes away when either going around a right hand bend or turn.)

maybe i bent that dust shield behind the rotor

so i guess i know what i'm doing tomorrow:banghead:

oh to add insult to injury,i go to pull out the power supply spliter that i had plugged into my cig lighter and the whole assembly comes out, shorts and blows a fuse.can it get any better:rolleyes:

(updated part)-as it turns out that notched ring (for the abs system)that's behind the rotor was completely loose and flopping around while the wheel was spinning.amazingly i didn't lose any of the small allen key bolts(5 in total) that holds it on.still need to replace the wheel speed sensor that got damaged by that ring(as the wheel turned it got snagged and bent it)abs light is on but atleast there's no noise.
