February 7, 200620 yr i have a 93' legacy SS of course turbo auto... and i have a auto trans from a 95 Impreza.. if i swap the diffs, is the 95' trans compatible with the ecm in my 93' legacy? basically are the trannies the same? i'm bettin the gear ratio is different.. just not sure about the electronic/internal side of things.. the Imp tranny shifted a hole bunch better..
February 7, 200620 yr The final drive is probably different. The SS has a 3.90 final drive, while the 95 I think has a 4.111 final drive. What trim level is the impreza? What engine does it have in it? The electronics are going to be different between the two cars, but you "should" be able to run the 95 Impreza 4EAT with the turbo legacy TCU. The turbo legacy 4EAT actually has a few things that make it beefier then the standard 4EAT, extra clutch packs and what not.
February 7, 200620 yr Author the imp was a na 2.2 2-door.. long gone to the scrapper.. the trans on the other hand has some wrx internal upgrades also have a wrx torque converter as well.. pretty sure it was just an L model imp. March 14, 200620 yr Author Bump, can anyone else chime in on this? reverse just went out in my legacy.. and i really needa know for sure if the 95' impreza trans will work in the 93' legacy.. i thought the final drive in the 95' imp was 3.9 ?
