wyomingmom
Hello! So nice to find this forum, hope you can help us -- Have a 1991 Loyale that we started last week at -20 degrees (Wyoming winter), drove the car (gently) for about a mile and then the idle suddenly dropped and the "check engine" light came on. Car was drivable, all gauges showed good levels, but when coming to a stop had to keep my foot on the gas and brake with my left foot or the car would die (manual trans.). My husband is familiar with checking the ecu codes on our older Loyale (1989 -- under the steering wheel), but can't find where to check the codes on the '91 wagon. (Have the charts for the codes, just need to know where to read them on this car!) Hope you can help us! Tia, Laura
mbrickell
I have a 1990 wagon, has to be similar to yours. If I look in the crack ( gap ) between the steering column and trim piece below, I can glimpse a little hole back in there with a little red LED light in it that blinks. I think that is what you are looking for. The wagon and the sedan should not be different in this regard.
