FlyB0y
I woke up to 2" of snow and decided to take a trip to painted rocks (I had to see what it's like with all 4 cyl at 100% this time last time there I was on 3:-p) and see how much snow they had. Woo Hoo! they had some old snow refrozen but not ice ... turned out to be about 2 ft deep (seemed like only 4 - 6" at first) Well, I got to the lake, and then started checking out the parking area first, and I noticed it was like going up a ramp from the hwy ... and it was packed hard, so I thought no big deal, and I start to head to the boat ramp (the lake bed is dry this time of year) well, the "right way" to the boat ramp is too soft, so I go the wrong way (against traffic in the parking lot:burnout:) and it's a bit slippery, so I do the normal thing and try a power slide ... well it almost turned into a power dig but I goose it a bit and get going again and the stuff is getting soft again, but I can see old tire tracks so I know where the road is, and I'm going fine till I have to turn this time it DOES turn into a dig ... first my brat digs after trying to go forward and back a bit, then I dig out the brat (pics below):horse:yet, not all is lost, since NOW I can test out my winch/block & tackle set up (sorry didn't get pics of this in action ):burnout:well, long story short, I realized 2 major wrong that caused me to get stuck in the first place: #1 was still in FWD:banghead::dead:and #2 forgot to air-down tires .... once I pulled it out of the ruts, (including 2hrs of digging through sno-cone like hard snow) I was able to drive the rest of the way once I aired down to 10 psi P.S. I also managed to smash one of my fog lights digging out the front oh well ... can't be too expensive to replace ... see all the fun you missed Nels? :-p
