March 23, 200620 yr 99 OBW Limited how do i tell the difference between a california or federal emissions car checking carfax my car was sold in PA, then went to NY, and finally i brought it to CA after buying it in OR. coming from back east i was sure it would be a Federal emissions vehicle, how can i tell for sure?
March 23, 200620 yr Author well...i thought that too, the ones i've seen before have big letters at the top specifying California Emissions, mine has some small print at the bottom that mentions California. In the FSM for the 99 OBW it lists two specs for the 2.2L, CA and non CA, but only one set of specs for the 2.5L i'm wondering if all the 99 2.5 were CA Emissions
March 23, 200620 yr If the bottom of the label states that the car is compliant for US and California for the model year, you should be OK.
March 23, 200620 yr As another poster suggested, the label in the engine bay should tell you. As California no longer charges that $300 smog impact fee, the only thing you have to worry about is if you live in one of the counties where it must pass smog check. If replacement parts are different for each engine (CA and Federal), that I don't know. 99 OBW Limitedhow do i tell the difference between a california or federal emissions car checking carfax my car was sold in PA, then went to NY, and finally i brought it to CA after buying it in OR. coming from back east i was sure it would be a Federal emissions vehicle, how can i tell for sure?
