if the hatchback has the OHV EA81 1800, then no they will not swap.

whats the difference that keeps it from working

length, mounting points, and the fact that both those control arms are totally different, even though they may not look it.

will they swap if it has a different motor?? thanks for all the help

nope, the reason I asked about the engine was because some people that are new to Subarus will refer to a EA82 coupe as a hatchback, but the EA81 was an actual hatchback. So if it is the EA82 wagon you're putting this part into, only vehicles of that bodystyle will fit into it for the most part. It would be way easier to get the part you need from a junkyard or from a fellow board member then trying to make something else fit that wasn't from that bodystyle of car.
