Auto locks spazzing out.

Okay, I'll try to explain this as best as I can.

'90 Legacy Wagon

My driver side door doesn't shut tight. It shuts tight enough to stay closed, but not tight enough for the door indicator light or the dome light to go off. I can hear wind through it while driving, too.

That part I don't really care about, but I mention it because it probably has something to do with the real problems:

1. The driver side door won't unlock from the outside. If it is locked, I have to go in thru the passanger side and open the driver door from the inside.

2. Any time the driver door is opened, all the locks lock.

3. I can sometimes avoid that by holding the lock in place while opening the door.

4. Sometimes they all just lock on their own while no doors are even being touched.

5. Sometimes (rarely) they just spaz out and lock and unlock over and over really fast.

6. Pressing lock on the driver door locks all doors, but pressing unlock usually doesn't unlock any door (not even the driver door).

What I'd really love to do is just find a way to shut off the auto locks (at least for the driver door). Make it so all locks work individually. It seems like this would be the easiest fix for my problem. I don't even care if my doors lock at all. Just so they don't lock out of nowhere like now.

If anyone knows how to do this or has a better solution, I'd love to hear.

Thanks! It looks like that will fix the biggest part of my problem.

Thanks alecbalcombe. I'll have a look at that, too.
