block plugs

Featured Replies

hi all, on my 84 gl wagon 1.8 4wd, i just had to have my radiator redone . now i want to drain the block, but can't seem to find both plugs. it does have 2 heads correct? i can find what i think is the starboard (passenger) side plug, but not the port. any help would be helpful---thanx bob

They're not so much as plugs, but bolts. The heads have on the bottom of them, one 14mm bolt. I cannot quite remember where exactly they are on the head though.

Passengar side drain is near the front of the head, in front of the exhaust header. Since Subaru used the same heads on both sides, the driver's side is opposite, near the rear of the head, behind the exhaust header.
