Hi,

 

I've been reading the posts relating to this code due to it cropping up 2 days ago on my 02 outback (MT) with 44k miles.

 

The light came on, however the car felt no different. I had the code read as P1507 Idle control fail-safe and then made an appt. with the dealer. Lo and behold, this morning the light was no longer on. The dealer told me to come in only if it comes on again.

 

I'm taking the car on a major backpacking expedition this weekend, but I'm worried about something cropping up.

Does it seem a reasonable idea to check and clean the IAC valve before I go? If yay, can someone tell me where the valve is?
