working on a 85 gl 2wd with a ea82 in it. got the motor back in to the car and it is over heating. it has a new water pump, took the thermostat out. dont know what to do. i thought it was a pressure lock but it doesnt act like that anymore. when i shut off the motor it wants to come out of the radiator. but when it is running there is no smoke. if anyone could help please give me a suggestions

What kinda condition is the radiator in? Is it plugged up at all? Have a severe case of fin rot? How's the coolant?

It sometimes takes a while to get the engine to give up its air bubbles. It has taken me up to a week to get the cooling system full. BUT, do check that radiator; when the car is warm and running, *carefully* run your hand from top to bottom of the radiator core, feeling for temperature differences.
