OnTheEdge
Hello. This is my intro and first questions. I just purchased a 1990 Legacy L AWD Wagon for $500 with 224k miles on it. Seems to run fine. Body is functional, but has rust spots and its share of minor dents. It has a junk yard hood that doesn't match (different color) and is missing the front grill due to hitting an elk! Interior is in nice shape. Power window switches need help and the door locks are in a complete dissarray. Clutch is new, timing belt has 50K miles on it. New tires. Anyway, I bought it just to run to and from work with the idea that I would just drive it into the ground and then replace it in a year, but I am finding I really enjoy this little beast. First question. The car is fun, but I wish it had just a tad more pep. Is there anything cheap/simple that will add a little more pep to it? I have other questions, but I'll search the forum first. Legacy777
The first gen legacies are peppy for what they are. You may want to give it a tune up. There's really not much you can do cheaply that will give you an amountable hp gains. I'd also recommend checking out www.bbs.legacycentral.org Josh

OnTheEdge
It is blue. Guy I bought it from said his dad bought it new. Drove it back and forth between Washington state and Kansas. It wasn't worth pulling a carfax on though, so I don't know if he was telling the truth or not.
