smolt
I used to own an 84 wagon with the 1.8L engine. I've since sold it and now own a 99 Forester with the 2.5L engine. I still have quite a few misc. parts for the 1.8L lying around such as gaskets, filters, etc. I'm getting ready to flush the radiator and block in my Forester. Can anyone tell me whether the thermostat housing gasket for the 1.8L is the same as the thermostat gasket for the 2.5L? I would just go buy a gasket for the 2.5, however, the nearest autoparts store is more than a 100 mile round trip from my home and I already have a brand new gasket for the 1.8L. Any help on the similarities between these two engines would be appreciated. Thanks, Y'all
ShawnW
Completely different. The EJ engines use a grooved o ring like thing and the EA use a paper/cork gasket.
