08 Impreza

Featured Replies

This is probably old news by now but these are the first pics I've seen of the next Impreza......

Same HP as the last generation, smaller brakes, bigger car....seems like they're heading in the wrong direction.

In the last comparison test I read in one of the magazines,("most fun for around $25K" ,I think it was called), the WRX finished way back...something like 5th out of 6 cars.

Subaru has officially unveiled it at http://www.subaru.com too.

I'm still torn on it. I think it looks better than the Edsel-nose car we have right now, but I'm pretty steamed about the window frames and the right-side exhaust on the hatch.

Almost wonder if they should have closed the Impreza out and came out with a new name. When I look at our 96 Impreza wagon next to our 2006 Impreza Sedan you can see they are closely related. Not so with the 08. I was not thrilled with the Impreza look when it first came out, but it kind of grew on me as being the look of something dependable. Now they have messed with the design to look like the other guys.

There is a very big positive for me though. They brought back the 60/40 fold down seats on the sedan.
