I don't know if this is the right forum or not but ....

that thing there, is there any modification to that tensioner/pulley? I really don't like the setup. it's so hard to get it all in there right.... there's got to be a better way.... any ideas? I was putting mine back in today and the little hole where you put a pin in broke so now I gotta buy a new one next time I take it off :(

Thanks!

Jonathon

I know the hydraulic tensioner can be kind of a pain to deal with, but it's one of the main reasons (in my opinion) that the EJ cars have far fewer timing belt failures than the EA82 did, which had fixed tensioners you adjusted at the belt change.

The newer model soobs have a different hydraulic tensioner setup, but it's about the same as far as taking it on and off is concerned.

Not to be an rump roast, but seriously, how did that get broken?

I had a little allen key in there holding it together and I released it once and the marks were one notch off so I took it apart again and compressed that tensioner and then when I tried to pull that key out the little bit of metal just went Bang! and it released it of course thankfully the timing was right that time so I left it be :P

Okay, that's an excusable offense:clap: .
