so i desperately need help with this strut on my brat as i need the brat out of my friends shop this weekend...

 

I put a jack under the strut and jack it up putting the cars weight on it and no compression.

i put spring compressers on the springs and it just compresses the springs and if i put them on the top and bottom it just bends the sturt at the top, bottom or middle.

Is my strut completely shot???

If it is, is there any way to get it back on anyways and would it be safe to drive for a short distance????
