Does anyone know what engines are compatible with a 99 Forester? Specifically, if a 2001 Legacy 2.5L SOHC would work? Thanks!

Will it work ... YES. The engine is the same. Use your 99 intake assy and sensors. The 99 was a MAF intake and throttle body system, while the 2001 is a MAP system.

 

But the engines mechanically are the same.
