misledxcracker
'86 SPFI. Key in the ON position, the secondary fan turns on all alone. AC can be on, off, car can be running or just simply in the ON position with it off. Okay, so I pull the fan fuse. Clock goes out?! So I put back in the fuse, and the clock works. Disconnect the fan connector, and leave the fuse in, the clock still wont work. What gives?! I love my amber clock but the fan's killing me here! Then... Start her up, idles to about 2k RPM, barely touch the gas and it goes down (thats normal, right?) Cold or warm, it has a misfire (it goes puh puh puh out the exhaust) and it shakes somewhat. At a stop light, it idles really low. Argh. I've cleaned, adjusted, and replaced pretty much everything I can think of. I've Seafoamed it. I sprayed carb cleaner in the IAC when running (it sorta evened it out, gave it more power) NO CEL, unfortunately.
dhise
Dunno about the fan... Cold start idle seems normal. Recently I replaced all the 14 year old vacuum lines under the hood and the motor really smoothed out for me. Maybe you have a vacuum leak? -Doug
Gyoas759
I currently HAVE a vacume leak and a lot of what you described sounds familiar. The idling at least. I'd take a close look and see.
misledxcracker
I replaced all of them, with the wrong size, screwed up , replaced all of them with the correct size. Any vacuum hose I could get a hold of... was replaced. Maybe I missed one? I hear no hisses anymore...
