I have been reading forums about people putting ea71 or ea82 spfi pistons in a ea81. My question is can I put ea82 pistons in an ea71? I am in need of some pistons does anyone know where to get them.

Yes they will work fine. Subaru is actually out of them in STD size. Theres really no major advantage in using them over your stock pistons the rings in the 1600 are much more durable and the compression difference is very minimal.

thanks, I just cant find any ea71 pistons but I have found ea83spfi pistons for $40 a piece with out ring I sould be able to order rings which might offset any lack of durablity.
