I tried the search and found nothing on pcv's.

 

I bought a used engine here in florida with 50,000 miles on it, should I replace the valve? Does anyone know the interval or do you replace it when there is a problem?

its a cheap part. replace it.

1. Replace the PCV valve with an OEM PCV only.

 

2. If the engine came out of an early model (i.e. 86, 87) you'll want to "update" the PCV hose system, as the early ones suck oil into the intake on hard turns (mine did it all the time). I got mine out of a '92 Loyale, and all is well now.
