Memorial Weekend, Kaner Flats and Naches

Featured Replies

planning on camping up at naches memorial day weekend. the naches pass trail won't be open on the west side, but kaner flats should be, pwr line trail and all the stuff at the moon rocks. depends on snow melt how much is open. usually, and last year most trails were open.

maximum amount of vehicles 14 per trail,

subaru requirements:

welded or lsd rearend

lift

oversized aggressive tires

toyotas, jeeps and all modified 4x4 vehicles welcome. except full sizes... :P alot of trails are really tight for the fullsizes. they can fit if they are short enough, cause we used to run them in my dad's truck. but it becomes a hassle...

planned trail runs, subjective to change due to weather and conditions...

kaner flats, dependent on types of rigs and conditions

clover and mud springs

funny rocks and moon rocks

manashtash ridge area

this weekend will be a busy one, generally it is the season opener.

if chinook pass is closed i'm also looking at reiter or evans creek to camp and wheel. i'd prefer naches, but snow depth and the opening of chinook pass is dependent. this winter was pretty wicked for snow fall, eventhough memorial day is usually when they open chinook. second choice is evans if the snow has receded enough to open the campground.

anyone interested???

well as its about 2 months away i would be able to go my lift should be done in a few days and then i will put my welded diff in and be able to put my 31 inch mud terrains on :) wooh this will be fun and ill have plenty of time to get the bugs out.

your running a 1600 and 31's? that little 7 inch clutch is going to fry pretty quick. the 1600's clutch barely holds up to pushing 27" tires, let alone has no gearing after that. realize trails like kaner flat, you won't be able to run with that setup easily, alot of the other trails, yes, but kaner has an extremely steep, tight and technical section. which a burning clutch and no gearing to get you up is going to be one hell of a shot in the dark... most other trails that will be run shouldn't even be a problem.

no no no lol im running my off road car the one in the pic its an ea82 with DR tranny. and i have a new clutch to put in it befor i go. the car your thinking of is my little wagon thats strictly a road car its 2wd.

Thanks Rob.

I just saw it in the avatar. 7 or 8 years ago I had a 1600 and 27's the clutch, easily burnt up.

yes it is, and it doesn't like big tires and wheeling. i remember always smelling a burning clutch on every trail i went on.
