April 26, 200817 yr Hi all , my Spider XT4 EA82T engine should be assembled in the near future and will have a real header fabricated for it . I want to use the EJ style flange and a factory style turbo with a "little" more potential . I'd like about 150 odd honest Hp from this engine so a turbo a little more modern and slightly larger than the dinky RHB 52 VF11 would be good . In Australia we got things like VF12's on Liberty RS Turbos / TD04's on early WRX's / and TF035's on basic Forester's . It sounds like the TF035 could be a responsive upgrade on an EA82T . Just for the record my 82T will be 8.6:1 CR , ported heads and a header possibly a bit like early EJ20 turbo collector and pipe size wise . And arachnid inlet manifold . Can anyone who's used these or similar turbochargers on EA82T's pass on their results/opinions please . Cheers A .
April 27, 200817 yr the guy that had my old rx2 he had an hirbid 1 done that used an legacy turbo air compresser housing and the exhaust was an ea82 housing. it was annoying coz to get at the spark plugs you had unbolt the bloody turbo. thats how much room was between the turbo and the block:rolleyes:

I think a 12A from a Starion/conquest would be a good upgrade, and since most of those guys are upgrading..... they are cheap........
April 28, 200817 yr I think you guys got the RHB5 VF7 not VF10 on the EA series engine the VF10/VF11/VF12 is found on legacy/liberty turbos if you want to upgrade I would keep it simple and use a TD04, it's a plentifull, cheap and proven turbo. if you want something else you could look into GT20/GT25 BB turbos, bit spendy but awesome turbos.
April 28, 200817 yr Author Steep learning curve , I think RHB52 VF2's and VF4's are what EA82T's got std . Cheers A .
May 2, 200817 yr Author Reached a dead end , rebuild parts in Australia for the old VF8 and VF12 are now rocking horse do do . I've been looking into the Forester GT's Mitsu TF034 but I think they are going to be on the small side for anything but a very std EA82T . The TD04 family of turbos has lots of potential with the base model having turbine and compressor wheels ~ 5mm up on the TF034 . There are inctemental increases in size with compressors and turbines so lots of potential for custom builds . Cheers A .
