exhaust leak

Featured Replies

i think my car has an exhaust leak.

theres this clicking/ticking sound that happens only when im on the gas.

does that sound about right to have an exhaust leak?

thanks for any pointers.

sounds like a loose heat shield..without car running, check with your hand all the shields to see if any are loose.i've notice that as time goes by,the welds let go and they become loose..i've used a worm clamp(large one) to wrap around and stop the rattle(though i have one that's loose and they're louder then the shield itself when it rattles)

Small sheet metal screws work good if you can reach the spot with a drill make a hole put the screw in tighen up.
