Guest jclay
Hi all, I have a small rust spot, about the size of a quarter, on my rear fender, and I'm wondering what the best way to repair it would be? Am I right in thinking that I should sand or grind it down do clean metal as best as I can, then paint with rustoleum? I'm not really worried about matching the color or anything, I just want to stop it from spreading. All suggestions are welcome and appreciatted! Thanks, Jared
subyfreak
Sounds like you have the right idea. Just remember rust needs oxygen so seal it and it will stop. When I am short on time and money or its just to cold for painting I have had good luck with clear silicone sealant. The cheap stuff from walmart in the white tube for use with a caulk gun is what I use. Its nothing pretty or permanent but it will stop the rust until the weather gets warmer.
