February 2, 200917 yr Friday night i pulled the motor out of my brat. If you have read any of my other threads you know that it was knocking. When I got the motor into my garage i would rotate the fly wheel with my hand and wiggle it in certain spots and you could just hear the slack in the motor. (between rod and crank) making a bad sound. clunk clunk. Well last night i pulled another motor out of another brat. I did the same thing with the fly wheel and it does sound alot better and feels better. But at one certain spot theres a little noise that i dont think should be there. My question is has anyone on here had a good motor on the floor, spin the fly wheel by hand and hear any kinda noise? Keep in mind this motor hasnt been spun over in about 3 years and theres no way to spin it fast enough to get the oil flowin to see if it will stop the noise. How do all of yall feel about me just trying it out or is it totally not worth it? Should i drop the pan and take a look? Since the motor has been setting so long when i first get it in the brat (if i do) ill take the plugs out and spin it over for about a min to get oil flowin. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks Gents. Kelly O.
