January 20, 200422 yr Hi there, first time post. Just replaced the carb on my '79 BRAT with a weber, straight out of the box. Noticed that there were a lot of vacumm hoses left over with no place to go (Calif. emmissions). Starts, runs fine, however, when idleing engine races like its going to take off for the moon! No amount of adjusting idle seems to make a bit of differance. Anyone have any suggestions? Sure would appreciate hearing from you all. Cheers CAR:D
January 20, 200422 yr Check all the vac. ports on the carb it self. And check around the base to make sure gasket is seated right:D
January 20, 200422 yr Author Vacum problem..., couldn't agree with you more, but which hose? As I mentioned, have a few hoses left over with no where to go...checked for leaks, carb gasket is sitting right
January 20, 200422 yr Take starting fluid and spray in areas and when rev goes up spray again to locate leak then you should be able to find it then. -Sean
January 20, 200422 yr Author thanks for the tip, will try it, not meaning to sound dumb, but what's "starting fluid"?

January 20, 200422 yr Author OH, yeah, THAT starting fluid (hee,hee)... lousy weather today, forcasting rain next few days, will give your suggestions a try first chance I get and will post results, thanks again
