2009/2008 Outback key fob

Featured Replies

I have a 2008 Outback with integrated key/fob. The 2009 integrated key/fob is smaller. I hate big key/fob's. I am missing a key/fob so was thinking of buying a new one. The rumor is that a 2009 key/fob can be used on 2008 vehicle. Can anyone confirm?

It probably can. Just go to a local dealer, ask to look at the 2009 keys and see if the key structure/layout is the same. If so you should be good. Then all you need to do is get the new key blank, give the parts counter the code off your original keys and have a new key made.

Or they should be able to look up your key code via your VIN.
