Guest 97svx
I am trying to upgade my tired OEM speakers but the spacer which angles the speaker is made out of thin metal and is unuseable. What can I use in its place? Thanks, Matt
Guest Sydfloyd44
Can't answer your question but will recommend you be careful that you make sure the door glass will clear the new speaker. I replace a lot of door glasses and regulators because this caution is not taken. Usually happens when the glass is put down for the first time after the install and the auto-down feature is used. CRUNCH!! Many subes have limited depth clearance when replacing factory speakers. Spacers will probably have to be used.
Guest Legacy777
just get some normal plastic spacers. They'll work fine.
Guest 97svx
Josh, where do I get these magical spacers? I called a local specialty shop and visited Walmart without success. Thanks, Matt
Guest Legacy777
should be able to get them at a local stereo shop. What neck of the woods you live in? A circuit city, car toys, best buy should all have them. You'll probably have to ask their install people, or ask one of the salesman to go get them from the install bay. Guest 97svx
Josh, thanks. I am in NJ and there is a Circuit City nearby. Matt
Guest edrach
Most any hardware store will have a supply of a variety of plastic spacers.
