I drove a '59 beetle for several years and had a blast. I had a lot of fun racing it. Due to overheating on 100+ degree summer days wore the motor out. so My car has been sitting for almost two years while I slowly made progress on my subaru EA81 engine swap. I picked this engine for the slight ower improvement, but mostly for simplicity and style. It looks very much like the original vw engines, especially after I fabricated my own intake manifols and adapters to use the VW generator and stand.

Nice work!

We owned many VWs (karmann ghias, bugs, microbus, etc.) before we ever owned a Subaru. Loved them all. To me, my Brat is kind of like a japanese VW....

Good luck with the project!
