Merope
Will a 2.5l engine mount up to a 2.2l transmission?
johnceggleston
absolutely. do a search for ''ej22 swap'' and read up. (or maybe ''ej25 swap'') tons of info on this. i have done it twice. which are you swapping, the engine or the trans? needless to say there are details you need to know of to avoid trouble. WoodsWagon
Put the 2.2l flexplate on the 2.5l engine and it will bolt right up.
xbeerd
yeah, make sure to use the flex plate thats with the trans, i didnt notice the difference in the flex plate sizes until i had the engine bolted in and was bolting, or should i say attempting to bolt in, the flex plate to the torque conveter. DOH. (this was in a ej22 swap into a 99 legacyGT, that ended up getting a frankenmotor) Edited May 4, 2013 by xbeerd
