99 subaru outback, front caliper scraping against wheel rim?

hey all, i have a friend i said i would look into his vehicle, he has a front right caliper scraping against his rim. im not sure how this happens and was wondering if anyone can provide some insight about this. 

he said he hit a pot-hole and then this started and thats when he noticed it this way

I am guessing that the dirt protector that fits around the rotor is bent in, and rubbing on the rotor. Pull the road wheel to see what and where it could be rubbing. Usually there will be a shiny area where the rub is happening. Should be easy to fix. Also, a good time to see how much brake pad remains.

I've also seen the lower caliper bolt that goes through the lower slider come out.....then the caliper rotates slightly "out" on the rotor especially after big bump could have dislodged it.

My first thought as well. Should be easy to figure out once you take the wheel off.
