Get a new half shaft. By the time you pay for the boots and labor, you can put in a new half shaft. I would not use split boots, they are junk IMHO. http://www.1stsubaruparts.com has good prices and service. If you want used halfshafts, I have them, $10+shipping. teppichkopf Posted February 12, 2005 Share Posted February 12, 2005 I've used split boots before and found them to serve their purpose, which is to prolong the inevitable axle replacement. I like to think of them as band aids for a deep cut: they may stop the bleeding but they won't fix the problem. As most will say it's just better to replace the axle with a rebuilt.
