Rx transplant

I have been fixing up a car for my parents and I have just completed installing my rebuilt Ea81 out of an 82 wagon into an 89 RX. I had to do some grinding on the bell housing for the flex plate to fit and its been a lot of work getting the power steering and a/c mounted up and the belts to be aligned. I finally got all that and have started on the vacuum hoses. I have a question about the auto transmission. There are two vaccum hoses coming off of it and they were loose when I got the car. Does anybody know what they do? Kickdown maybe? Should I hook them to the intake vacuum? next is going to be the electrical part :banghead: Thats going to be fun. If anybody has any advice on the electrical part, I would appreciate it. Kim.

The 3AT "vacuum" hoses are probably: 1) The vacuum line to the vacuum modulator (kickdown), which runs down the passenger side of the transmission and should be connected to intake vacuum, and 2) most likely the tranny's breather tube, coming off of the top of the driver's side tranny case and just forming a downward facing loop.

Huzzah Postus Resurectus, but i have to ask, what does putting an EA-81 into an RX have to do with putting a better carb on a EA-81 going into a trike?

The "transplant forum" would be a better bet, the "retrofit forum" is for subaru into subaru.
