subiemech85 Posted March 13, 2006 Share Posted March 13, 2006 with a dvm set on 20v, connect one lead to center terminal and one lead to outer terminal and note reading ~12 = good then connect one lead to center terminal and one lead to good ground and note reading ~12 = good then connect one lead to outer terminal and one lead to good ground and note reading ~0 = good then stick one lead in engine coolant and one lead to good ground and note reading ~0 = good clean both battery terminals and connections the cables should be at least 6ga 18" one goes to the starter monting bolt one goes to the starter solenoid "FOR TESTING PRUPOSES ONLY" to hotwire a ea81 series subaru, + wire from coil + to bat. + and + wire from starter battery cable + to starter small male spade terminal does not work for ea82 if your volt gauge goes up and down with the turn signal on, welcome to the club!
