Meeky Moose
its the sensor that screws into the block.. the distributor wiring harness has a lug that goes into it.. this is on an ea82T the one on the RX was broken.. (think that was part of my problem) the one on the wagon broke when i tried to get it out.. it screws in right behind the intake manifold, disty wiring harness plugs into it.. about all i can say about it really.. Meeky Moose
85 and 86.. both were the same, both snapped..
MilesFox
on 85 and 86, the knock sensor is part of the mechanical distributopr system, and both it and the distributor tie into the Knock Control Unit i think one from an ea81t would work, too

MilesFox
it will run without it, but it might knock under boost.....
Meeky Moose
well, the dealer wanted $195 for one, advance wanted $125... i didn't buy one of course, i can get a hole motor for that price, lol anways, i am headin over to Scrapdaddy's house tonight, he's got a spare if we can get it outa the block, haha temporarily i took teh old one outa the wagon, it is snapped off, but the 2 prongs are not broken, so i carefully put it in place, and plugged it in.. i also put in my 2wd disty, and damn it runs a whole bunch better.. its basically good as new now..
