  1. I believe we have the same unit. Never tried the "smack it twice on the right side" approach but I will give it a shot. Let me know what the dealer says... Thanks David
  2. Has anyone had to replace the light that lights the display in a factory Subaru radio. We have a P119 and the light has gone bad. Anyone ever replaced one? David
  3. Got some more info from the Subie dealer... full compression test resulted in 190-200 psi in all cylinders. BUT they did somehow find a wiring problem on the #4 injector (golly what a shock!) I questioned the service manager as to why I was told yesterday that the compression on the #4 was 150 psi and now today it is 200 psi. She told me "that a compression test on a single cylinder is not as accurate as one done on all 4" To which I replied "uh huh"... Now i am assuming that she meant that once they tested all 4 the numbers were different... I am hoping she is not implying that they tested all 4 simultaneously...4 testers, 1 in each cylinder... would it make any kind of difference vs 1 cylinder at a time? I cannot see how it would make that kind of difference provided all the rest of the cylinders still had spark plugs in them... Thoughts? David
  4. We have been experiencing ongoing problems with our 2000 Legacy GT. CEL's several times, new injectors on 1 & 3 cyls for sure possibly 2x on #3, now dealer says that head gaskets are gone. They want to check based on a compression test reading of 150# from the #4 cylinder with no other cylinders checked... will have to commit to a 10 hr labour charge to R&R the heads. Dealer is absolutely confident that thais is the problem. I challenged them by asking what if it isn't? We have written a looong letter to the President & CEO of Subaru Canada to get a response. So far... they are looking into the problem. Any other out there with similiar problems? you can see the letter here: http://clubweb.interbaun.com/dwrate/letter.html
