  1. 97 2.5 Outback DOHC Fans work, thermostat seems to function. The fan/fans kick in and the thermostat opens drawing fluid into rad. The problem is that the overflow bottle overflows while driving and gradually the system loses coolant. I have flushed the rad, bought a new Subarau rad cap, also open the system to allow air to escape to prevent an airlock. Please tell me this is not a head gasket or combustion problem... Mike
  2. Here is what I did: Try assisting wiper arm by hand with power and switch on, if this works you will have to remove gear/motor cover and grease well. You can try spraying WD40 or similar product into the wiper gearbox from outside before trying the above just to help, but you will eventually have to take the gearbox apart and grease it. In my case the gearbox was seized because of road salt and required complete disassembly. Good Luck
