  1. I am going to go over my wiring again. The wiring diagram is from Legacy777 website. But what I need to know is that if all else falls can I swap ecu's.
  2. I have a wiring diagram for 92. Temp sensor is a single wht/grn wire that runs to temp gauge. The coolant temp sensor has two wires blk/yel and grn/blk. The grn/blk wire switchs to a red/green that goes to the ecu. But also tees off and runs to the temp gauge, connection A pin 8. I have tested the circuit and it seems the the ECU is not sending a signal to the relay for the fan. So I am thinking the somehow I do have a short in the Ecu. When I unplug the temp sensor (wht/grn wire) the temp gauge goes back to Cold. That why I what to swap the H9 for the H5 if it can be done.
  3. I have a 91 Legacy 2.2 auto awd ecu is a H5. I also have a parts car 92 Legacy 2.2 auto awd ecu is a H9.The difference between the 2 cars is that the parts car has ABS and cruise. Can I swap the H9 for the H5. The reason for doing this is that I think the H5 ecu is corrupt. I am having problems with the cooling fans not working and the temp gauge goes to the top once the ignition is turned on( car not running). I have changed relays, temp sensor, thermo sensor also have disconected battery overnight to reset ECU. I have also checked for shorts. So this leaves me with only one thing, ECU. Thank You
  4. Fixed it finally. Front Cat was bad. Pieces of the cat were breaking inside, so under light thorttle they would sit on the bottom. But when going uphill and heavy thottle they would plug the screen. I did test the exshaust system with a vacume gauge before and it seemed fine. But someone told me that it may test fine with a gauge because you cann't duplicate driving. So if you have this problem. don't rule out the cat. ( there are 2 of them). I was lucky to get a parts care with a good cat. Because they are expensive.
  5. I am not getting any codes. I have just done a compression check 1,2,3, are 175, and 4 is 190 Also have tried 91 octane but still the same thing. I will try the coolant sensor.
  6. 92 Subaru Legacy AWD 2.2L Auto Trans 250,000km I have been having problem with it dying on heavy acceleration and going uphill. On flat and cruising the car is fine. It idles nice and will accelerate nice and smooth for short distance. Going uphill the car is under load, it will start to missfire and then will start to loss power and then die. I then pull over ,let it sit for 1-2 min and it starts, it also idles smooth. But the next hill the same thing. I was getting a lot of detonation from the engine before it would die ,but I changed the plugs. I put in plugs that where one step colder. One other thing is that when the car is cold ,it seams to run better. Other thing I have done. -Sea foam -Water injected into engine -Plug wire -TKO injector cleaner( not the cheap junk) -Fuel pump -Knock sensor New I am thinking MAF. sensor, I will pick up one from the wrecker. Help Please any ideas.
  7. Does anyone have the wheel alignment specs for a 91 legacy wagon. I just need to know how much toe is on the front and rear. Thanks.
  8. I have 91 Legacy. It will not release from park when I put my foot on the brake. I release it by the manual button. I have check the solenoid, I have no power to it when the brake pedel is pushed down. Yes the brake lights do work. I am assuming that there is a relay, but I can not find it. If someone could tell me where and what it looks like. If I take the soleniod out will this do anything to the running of the car, meaning the computor. Thank You.
