  1. Hello all, '96 OBW 2.5l has been leaking oil like a sieve for a couple days now (coming from behind the TB housing), and from the info on this site, looks like either camseals or crankshaft seals...anyway, car is going in to get fixed on Tuesday. I assume they need to drain the oil for the repairs, so would this be a good time to switch the engine oil to synthetic, or am I just opening myself up to more leaks elsewhere??? Car has about 180,000KMS. tx in advance mal
  2. TX for the info, I must have brainfarted, I would never have thought to use the word "climate control", but that is exactly what I needed...this seems to be a problem of epidemic proportions. I will give the fix a whirl this weekend and hope that bulbs are my only problem. TX again. mal
  3. Hello all, acquired a '96 OBW this summer and slowly have been repairing all the minor stuff, but I am dumbfounded with this one. On the instrument panel, do all the buttons, switches & radio/clock light up at night when the headlights are on?? When I say buttons, I mean the ones that are used for the heat and air flow, as well as the dial for the speed of the fan. Mine do not light up and neither does the clock. I've checked the fuses (under the hood) and everything seems good, nothing blown. Is there another fuse bank I am missing or do these buttons just not light up??? any help would be appreciated, especially those of you who have the same model and year car tx marc
  4. tx for the help, I think I've found some from a dealer not too far away. Like I told commuter, if I had more time, I would definitely look at other options. tx again mal
  5. Gee, I wish I had the time to wait, need to get this car fixed asap as it's my wife's who drives out of town everyday. tx for the offer though mal
  6. Hello all, I'm new here - just acquired a '96 OBW and it failed the local safety inspection. What needs to be replaced are the sway bar end links both front and both rear. As well as the park brake shoes. From what I can tell, these parts are only available from a dealer, BUT, dealer we have here is pretty unreliable. Looking for an alternative place to purchase subie parts in Canada. Hope someone can help. tx mal
