This might sound like a stupid question but how do you know when your ABS has kicked in on your car? Should the light come on when it's working? Have 05 Impreza RS SW. Had really bad downpours here & with the roads being really slippery you think that the ABS would be kicking in?

I have an Impreza RS SW '05 what should I use on the roof racks & the sideview mirrors. Heard I can use armoral & people say no don't use that, can dull & make racks look white. What are you people using?

My 05 Impreza RS SW does the same thing. You really do get used to it. How can you tell if the racks were installed backwards?

I am having the same problem as you & it happens to me also between 2,000 & 3,000 rpms when I acclerate & go up inclines. I have taken the car to the dealer & they said everything is running fine & it's under warranty but I am still not satisfied so it's going back in on 4/10 so I'll let you know what they try to tell me this time. I have a 05 Impreza 2.5 RS SW with only 6,500 miles so that's why I find this to be odd.

When I acclerate or go up hills I have a slight knock/ping. It seems to happen as the engine gets warm. I have a 05 Impreza 2.5 RS SW. I have had it to the dealer but they can't seem to hear it. This is the not he 1st time I brought it to their attention. I have also changed fuel octanes but that didn't seem to help.

If a knock sensor would be bad would the CEL come on?

Hey everyone. I have a Impreza RS Sport Wagon 05 & I don't put much miles on. I had my 1st oil change at 3000 but now it has been 4 months going on 5 & I'm still not ready for a change til 6000 & I'm only at 5400, should I go now & get 1 or wait because then at 7500 is when they tell me to come in for the 7500 maintance check. Ya know like rotate tires, oil change & all those other good things they want you to do. I don't have a problem doing all these things trust me because I want my subie to take me a long way it's just a pain to keep running back & forth to the dealer if I can wait & have all the things done at once. Should I go now or can I wait?

This may sound stupid but I am new to ABS & how do you know when it is kicking in? Will the ABS light come on? Had snow up my way & didn't know if my ABS was working or not?

I have a Impreza RS SW 05 & since day 1 I have been having this vibration/rattle noise. It almost sounds like when a speaker is blown but hell I hardly have the radio on. I took it to the dealer & they told me it was the seat buckle hitting the pillar, techs repositioned the seat buckle, I'm not an idiot that I couldn't have done that. Well noise is still there & I'm taking it in on Mon. for a replacement of a seat cover. I don't want to seem like a ***************, but should I insist they take off the panel this time. Now mind you it's not there all the time but when I go over rough roads it's there & don't tell me to stay off those roads because I should be able to drive my car anywhere.

Can someone tell me what excalty does piston slap mean. Having a slight ping/knock in my engine. Is this what my problem is? I have posted this recently but maybe it's piston slap but don't know for sure.

Hello everyone. I have a 05 Impreza RS Wagon & from day 1 I have been having a ping/knocking noise. Happens when I acclerate or go up hills but mainly acclerating. Tried going from a 87 octane to 89 & still no change. Took to dealer & they put it on the machine & said all the parts are working the way they should. I have only 3400 miles on this so is this really normal for a subaru? I.t drives me crazy
