  1. Thanks Jack. My GL-10 came from Pennsylvania. Digital dash, trip computer, digital temperature, converted to non air ride, pushbutton 4wd, power windows and locks, sunroof, alloy wheels, turbo, white with blue interior. Great car, just 1. I'm not a Subaru guy and 2. Don't have the money for 3 project cards and a daily driver, haha! Awesome car though, I had all the parts to do a WRX turbo conversion, then sold them. Would have been cool, but ohwell. Hopefully one of you guys can carry the torch and tow this baby out with all the parts to make this thing super reliable!
  2. Awesome, then it's settled. I'm gonna pull the whole shabang out at one time from the top. Thanks ballitch, Caboobaroo, and jrwood for your quick and helpful responses!
  3. Thanks for the quick response! I've done a few engine removals/installations. H22A engine/trans into my Accord. Removal of my KA24 in my 240sx and a few other Civic/Accord engine removals. Also a Bronco which sucked. But I digress. So, I feel that I have enough understanding to do it, I just like to have someone that knows anything about these cars for suggestions. I gladly accept your suggestion and will use it. I haven't looked at that car in so long, so I'm gonna give her a gander and start yanking that monkey, haha! Thanks for the help, any other suggestions are gladly welcomed!
  4. Alright. I'm pulling the motor to replace some gaskets and clean her up real good and replace the trans. Now I'm reading over our shop supplied ALLDATA and it says to take the engine out through the top. Now I am not a Subaru guy by any means, but it sure looks as if it'd be WAY WAY easier to remove that sucker as a whole from the bottom. Anyone agree or disagree? Thanks.
  5. Yea this place is a "recylcer/locator" we deal with through my work, so it's already pulled. I'm just gonna go ahead and buy it so I can get this car out of my way, haha!
  6. Oh okay, I have the push button 4wd. So it's the "single range". That was very helpful thank you! So is that a good price. About 80k miles for 200 bucks?
  7. Okay after just searching a few things, it looks like my EA82T sedan is a dual range factory because it's a 5speed. Luckily I found a dual range too. Someone correct me if I'm wrong and/or clarify me. Thanks!
  8. Hey all, I called around today from work and found an EA82T single-range transmission for 200 bucks my cost. It's only got 80,000 miles on it. Is 200 a good deal for those things. I'm a Honda kid so I'm unaware of Subaru pricing. If it's a good price, I plan to buy it and then install new headgaskets on the EA82 sedan and sell her in good shape, rather than the low asking price in the current shape. Thanks for the responses!
  9. Thanks, I appreciate the help. I found a low miles EA82T transmission, so I think I'm just going to install it and do headgaskets and sell her like that.
  10. What's so crazy about the wiring? I tried searching and couldn't find anything worth anything except, can I swap this? So doesn't help. If you know where I can get a good condition COMPLETE engine/trans EA82T i'll buy it as long as it's a reasonable price. I'm fixing this car to sell it.
  11. I want to do the swap and get it in a good, decent condition that someone will want to buy. As it sits, no one wants it.
  12. Alright. Since my GL won't sell as is because of a dead trans, and even still the motor MIGHT need TLC, I'm thinking of just finding an EJ22 and doing the swap. My question, if I get a complete engine, wiring, ecu, trans, driveshaft, axles, etc. will it bolt up to the GL platform? I understand that an adpater plate is needed to use a GL trans but my trans is dead so theres no point to reuse it. cliffnotes: Complete EJ22 swap (everything) into a For Sale 86 GL-10, possible?
  13. cool, i'll try that, thanks! how do i get the turn dials off, i keep feeling like i'm going to break the hell out of them.
  14. yea my car is an 86 gl-10 SEDAN, so i don't see why it wont work. what kind of money would you like for it? and if you can include the turn dial switches also, that'd be great.
  15. it's actually from s13 and s14 sr20's but the s15's came with a t28. you could pull 100-200 dollars if its in that good of shape. they're almost a dime a dozen so don't become too overzealous and/or greedy if you decide to sell.
