  1. fring order, idle switch location ? 1.8 SPFI 1987

    I'm trying to figure out how to correctly check/set the timimg on a 1987 GL with a SPFI(?) 1.8l.... Found the test connector under dash... need to know where the idle switch os and how to turn it on as per Chilton's manual. Dumd ?s, I know, but if any one has the time to tell me, I'd sure appreciate it. Also... it seems the timing has slipped... some opine that the tensioner for one or both t-belts has worn/is bad. Any ideas? Is it as simple as pulling the covers and seeing if the timing marks line up? Thanks
