  1. where can you get subaru shop manuals ? I ahave a 91 and 95 legacy's and limited experience on the weightier areas (engine replacement , clutch and trans)and would like to learn..can u tell me how to get subaru inc. tech manuals ty Bill

  3. wow thats one hell of a good explanation :-\ so getting into the tranny im thinking i need to take every out and replacing the synchronizer is more trouble thanit is worth ?? better get a used one and drive in 1,2, 3rd and 5th gear ?? ty Bill
  4. good idea ive held miine in place strong and hard and it jumps right out ... maybe early on when the problem first started unfortunately its gotten worse..
  5. I have a 91 legacy manual trans. that wont stay in 4th gear when driving. any advice??
  6. haven t been on in a while..I saw a 97 outback for sale with valve job, head done and the head gaskets. the price is good but Im very fearful of the dohc. should i stay away or not ?? ty Bill
  7. can anyone tell me is it possible to replace the oil pan on a 95 legacy without lifting the engine to access the rear bolts to the oil pan ? Bill
  8. one other question.... where do you access the abs wiring connector for the passenger side rear wheel ? my fear that it will be inside the car under the carpet running up to the front.
  9. thanks legacy777 those buggers were in so snug I was worried id ruin the seal on the sensor. so I took the new spindle with an abs already on unplugged the old wiring thru the firewall and hooked up the new connection from the new spindle. getting access to the wiring harness in the engine copartment was no easy feat. after removing all kinds of brackets by the abs system i accessed the harness.
  10. Hi I have a 91 awd legacy wagon. Im replacing the front passanger side spindle. Can anyone tell me how to remove the abs sensor on the back of the spindle ? thanks bmac_1277
