How so is the car designed to be crashworthy as-is??? Without the airbag won't i hit the steering wheel if i by chance am in a collision or something??? I am just trying to figure out my options as to if I ever am in an accident. Thanks. . .

I have a Subaru '87 4WD Turbo Wagon. I was just wondering does my car have air bags, like in the steering wheel??? Because I don't see the usual SRS sign or anything. . . Did the subarus of the 80s come with air bags??? And also what can I do to add one??? If at all, can I change the steering wheel and if so where can I look for one??? Thanks, KNIGHT RIDER

I have a 1987 Subaru GL-10 4WD Turbo. THe previous owner had A/C work done. The thing I didn't know was the R12 fiasco or else I would have asked him on the spot. But now I don't have any way of contacting him. I would like to know if it still is an R12 or if he converted it to an R134A system. Is there any tests that I can do to determine which one is in there??? Please help me thanks. And also where are exactly the A/C parts in the engine?? Thanks, KNIGHTRIDER

True, however how come in the background you can see the km??? I haven't found a button as of yet either, but if it is in the background there has to be a button to turn it on. . . At least, that's what I would think. Maybe other people have found it??

Hey All, I have an '87 GL-10 Turbo 4WD Station Wagon and have an Digital Dash. I was wondering how do you change MPH to KM/H, because I can see the KM/H, but just don't know how to switch it on. I have looked in the manual, but can't find anything to tell me to change it. A side note question, why did they change the dash to that green one starting '87 from that orange looking one from before?? Is it possible to change your dash lights to an custom color, like red or blue or something??? Thanks, KNIGHT RIDER

Well, thanks for your help hatchsub. I have everything fixed and working, but the only thing that remains is the radio working at ACC, my mechanic told me since its an old car it doesn't have that feature or something along those lines. Maybe you guys at this board can help me with your expert wisdom and also whether or not you had these problems too. :-\

Hi, everyone. My problem is I just installed an aftermarket Radio. The First problem i have is that when i put my key to ACC it won't turn on, it will only turn on when it's on ON or START. Another problem is that all the stations I store erase everytime i turn off the car and come back to it. I need to specifically know about wiring for a 1987 Subaru GL-10 4WD Turbo Station Wagon.
