  1. yes i changed the fluid once, i will do it again, is there a paper filter or a pickup screen? the drifter
  2. I think I must have lost a few too many brain cells in the 80's because yesterday I figured out that the tranny shifts second a lil hard then shifts third too early, bogs a bit then down shifts to second then shifts back to third. Thanks Again The drifter
  3. Dude Thanks for all the input. If the tranny dumps I will prob change it out, my uncle has a shop with a tranny jack. I dont really like used trannys, since this one has only 115 k on it, im thinking im not gunna find anything with low mileage in the 1990 year. What year can I use a tranny up too? I wanted to use the car to tow a lil boat I ve been rebuilding, Im sure this will be the kiss of death for this unit , lol. IN the mean time i will look for a junker I can pick up for parts. Thanks ken
  4. DearMr Nipper It feels like a bog , the engine dsnt increase at first, it feels like a coast then the rpms increase. . The fliud was a lil burnt , I changed it and added some Lucas tranny fix. I did not change the filter. I read the band can be adjusted, True? I guess I will have to find out the spec for both sensors, Ohms im thinking, The hanyes manual dsnt have much in it about the vss. Thank You Kenny:headbang:
  5. Dear Nipper I must add the tranny shifts hard into second and when in second acts like it is loosing power then it feels like a little down shift and revs and takes off. Its shifts into 3rd fine and 4 fine also. Respectfully Kenny
  6. Nipper Interesting, the speedo is showing a false reading of 10 20 mph above actual speed. Do you think that would cause the solenoid to energize? Is the speed sensor mechanical or electrical? Do you need to pull the tranny to change the speed sensor? Thanks kenny
  7. I have a 90 legacy wagon 4wd. I have no rear wheel drive, my understanding is that the duty c solenoid energizes and disengages the rear drive when the fuse is put in. Since the fuse is out, then the clutch pack must be blown, is my logic correct? Kenny:confused:
  8. I have a 90 4wd legacy wagon thjat has no rear drive. Do you think it is the same thing, the rear clutch pack is blown , I doubt the solenoid is energized all the time. ken
  9. Josh I changed the tranny fliud and added some lucas tranny fix. THe fluid smelled kinda burnt. Is there a filter or a screen in the tranny pan? So are you saying it is only in 4w when its held in 1 or second gear? I had a 87 honda awd wagon for 12 years and that car went thru anything. I never had a problem with the awd on that car. I dont get the LSD reference. Thanks kenny
  10. I just got this 1990 awd legacy wagon. It has 115k, it needed a o2 sensor an injector, tires, a starter and a timing belt. After that it runs well 24 mpg on the highway. We just got 12 inches of snow and what I suspected is true it is one wheel peel, the awd fuse is not in. I read the haynes manual but I cant find any info on the awd system. The tranny does shift a little poorly, it bags second and when in second it seems to decelerate a little then accelerate on what feels like a little upshift. I think this is a band adjustment but Im not all that sure. Im suspecting the transfer case or tranny itself. Thanks for the help love this board the drifter Ps thanks for the help leg777 I did find a rebuild injector locally for 63 bucks.
  11. Its an AT , and that looks like the right injector, i only need one if u want topart with one. 777 thanks for all the info if it wasnt for your great pics I wouldnt have found the codes OR THE WIRES TO JUMP THE ECM. Ill be away for a couple of days so ill get back to you tues of next week. Do you think you can send it out next day. Do you take paypal? Thanks The drifter
  12. Believe me its flooding, it not holding fuel pressure so all that ga s is going somewhere. It wouldnt crank, I guess all that gas created a hydrolic lock in the cylnder. Anyway gas is everywhere. ANd to answer the other guy the injector is either 130 or 2hundie something, thats alot to replace a part that just might be dirty. I put a lil vasaline on the o rings and the injector sat down pretty easy. My haynes book dsnt have a diagram of injector gaskets so i dont know if I am missing somehing. THanks kenny
  13. Help please Im having a problem with flooding, the engine floods bad!!! Can an injector hang open? I have a 1990 legacy wagon 115k. I had a bad injector code and took the injector out and cleaned it, afterwards it flooded. It wont hold fuel pressure. I need a blow up showing injector assembly or order of operations when installing injector. Im doing something wrong here. Wow an injector isnt cheap. Thanks The DRifter
