Just bought a 2006 Forester X. Days after driving it home, a squeak/rattle started. Sounds like it is coming from the driver's side dash. The Service dept. claimed this was a common problem with the 2006 Foresters and they knew the fix for it. Days after the "fix", the squeak/rattle was back. I dropped it off at the dealer today for the 2nd attempt. I'm not happy. Shouldn't have these problems from a brand new car!!! Actually, the icing on the cake after the 1st "fix" was the ding on the driver's side fender near the hood THAT WASN'T THERE BEFORE! Of course, the service dept. claimed they didn't do it, but to keep me "happy" they scheduled an appointment with "The Ding Man". I'm a tough customer - it better look NEW.

Bought a '06 Forester X auto w/ premium package over the weekend. It's our 1st Subaru!!! Picked it up last night and they dumped the warranty sales pitch on me, blah blah blah. I wasn't prepared for it - I never buy them - but my wife seemed sold, so we bought the 6 year/80,000 for $800 bucks. It's the Gold Plus Plan from Subaru. It's been nagging me since I bought it last night. I think I might want to get rid of it. I didn't have it on our Honda Civic. Didn't have it on my Jeep Grand Cherokee and that was an American car!!! Both cars were great to us. Bought the Subaru b/c it's supposed to be great, so I'm not expecting any problems. Somebody above said you could get a refund within 30 days. Is that true??? How do I do it? Can I go through Subaru or do I have to go through the dealer? Thanks!!!

Anybody know anything about ASTROSTART remote starters? I just bought a 2006 Forester X premium package and the dealer installs the AstroStart 903u. I'm wondering how good it is and if it is worth the $395 installed price. Thanks for any opinions!!!
